Katrina Rae
Hendersonville, TN
Mult-award winning singer, songwriter, and evangelist Katrina Rae began her singing career in country music in California. Within five years, she and her family moved to Nashville, Tennessee to pursue a recording contract. However, Katrina soon left her country music career and formed Mizpah Ministries when she felt she was
being called to sing for God and His people. Since then she has traveled throughout the United States and the world sharing her full time evangelistic ministry, performing over a thousand concerts in Catholic parishes. Her husband John joined the ministry in early 1998 and together they have
directed dozens of parish missions and several hundred parish or youth retreats.
In 2000, Katrina was honored to be invited by Pope John Paul II to sing at several events for the Jubilee Year World Youth Day in Rome. And she was further honored to cantor a Mass in St. Peter's Basilica for the feast of the Immaculate Conception. Katrina has sung for international Christian festivals in Europe, but feels her real ministry is serving parish to parish within the
United States. Katrina has appeared on numerous Christian TV shows, including three different EWTN shows, and her music can be heard on numerous radio stations throughout North America, South America, Africa, and Europe. In 2001 and 2002, Katrina aired her weekly thirty minute broadcast of faith sharing and music, "Changed by His Glory", on WVOG- 600 AM Radio in the greater New Orleans area every Sunday morning. The programs are currently being re-aired in Ohio and Africa, and in 2007 the radio shows were recognized as Best Religious Radio Presentation for Catholic Evangelization.
After the tragic events of September 11, 2001, Katrina co-produced the national release of the song and music video YOU ARE NOT ALONE. The
song and video were nominated for eleven 2002 Unity Awards, receiving ten awards, including 2002 SONG OF THE YEAR and 2002 VIDEO OF THE YEAR. The sale of the song and video has raised thousands of dollars for the families of those killed at the Pentagon and for the families of military personnel stationed in Iraq.
Besides being voted United Catholic Music and Video ARTIST OF THE YEAR
in 2007 and 2005, Katrina has received a total of twenty Unity Awards,
including 2007 FEMALE VOCALIST OF THE YEAR, 2007 BEST RELIGIOUS RADIO PRESENTATION FOR CATHOLIC EVANGELIZATION, 2005 SPOKEN WORD ALBUM OF THE YEAR, 2004 AND 2002 SONG OF THE YEAR plus 2004, 2003, and 2002 COUNTRY SONG OF THE YEAR, 2002 VIDEO PRODUCER OF THE YEAR, AND 2002 PRAISE AND WORSHIP SONG OF
THE YEAR. Katrina has six Christian music albums: GROWING, IN-CONCERT, JOURNEY, MENDED, MESSENGER, AND TOUCH, plus one spoken word CD: PASSION WALK MEDITATION. The PASSION WALK MEDITATION has also been developed into a six-week Lenten course for schools, bible study groups, and religious education classes.
Katrina has been married for 38 years and raised 5 children. Her husband, John, is her sound/light engineer and partner in ministry. Over the years, Katrina and John have served as youth ministers and as Director of Parish Life/Evangelism at their parish, Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Community in Hendersonville, TN. For twelve years, Katrina served as the director and coordinator for the parish's thirteen Small Faith Communities comprised of
over 130 parishioners. She is a founding member of CAM (Catholic Association of Music) and a charter member of UCMVA (United Catholic Music and Video Association).
When Katrina ministers through music or witness, she connects to her
audience through the shared experience of being a wife, mother, and Christian who has faced many of the same trials in marriage, parenting and life. Her sincere witness, peppered with her soft sense of humor, relaxes and inspires the audience and helps them find healing for the pains and tragedies of life, assisting them to become joyful vessels who answer God's call with "Here I am, Lord. Send me."
